You’re getting married - congratulations! On your big day, you’ll want to look your absolute best, but your groomsmen attire also needs to look sharp. The challenge? With so many styles, colors, and budgets to balance, it can be confusing to know what works best.

The key is to remember: your groomsmen’s attire should reflect three things - what you’re wearing, the theme or location of the wedding suit, and the agreed budget.

Their Style, Base On Yours

Your outfit sets the tone. While your groomsmen should look their best, you - the groom - must stand out. A good rule: their suits should complement yours without overshadowing it.

If you’re in a three-piece suit, your groomsmen can wear two-piece suits in the same fabric for consistency with distinction. If you’re in a statement suit, your groomsmen can wear light-grey two-piece suits for coordinated contrast that keeps the focus on you.

If you’re in a tuxedo, your groomsmen can wear classic dark tuxedos with subtle differences - ties, lapels, or boutonnières - so you remain the clear focal point.

Accessories matter: matching ties, bow ties, or shirts for the groomsmen is cohesive, but these should differ from yours.

SUITABLEE touch: Coordinating groomsmen vests with the groom’s vest fabric is a subtle yet powerful way to unify the party while highlighting the groom’s authority.

The Theme & Location

The wedding’s theme and setting are just as important as your outfit.

Classic weddings: If you’re wearing a black or navy tuxedo, your groomsmen should mirror the timeless feel with black or navy wool suits in smooth fabrics.

Bold & colorful weddings : If your suit is emerald, coral, or burgundy, your groomsmen don’t have to match the vibrancy. Instead, let them wear neutral tones and add boldness with accessories.

Rustic weddings : Think textured fabrics - cream twill suits, chambray vests, earthy tones like brown and olive. Anything overly shiny or sleek will feel out of place.

Beach weddings : Linen or cotton blends in sand, beige, or pastel blues keep things relaxed but sharp. If you’re set on a tuxedo, then navy or black in lightweight wool is still appropriate.

Day vs Evening: A charcoal herringbone suit feels right for a daytime wedding, while midnight blue or burgundy is perfect under evening chandeliers.

During our group fitting sessions, we help wedding parties choose colors and textures that match the venue, season, and theme - ensuring a consistent, well-balanced aesthetic.

The Groomsmen Budget

Style should never come at the cost of comfort - financial comfort included. Discuss budget openly so everyone feels included.

  • High to mid-range budget: Three-piece suits or two-piece suits work well.
  • Mid to low budget: Stick to two-piece suits, or even vests with matching trousers.
  • Low budget: Suit pants with crisp dress shirts elevated by suspenders. Remember, accessories are powerful: ties, pocket squares, and boutonnieres can elevate even the simplest outfit.

SUITABLEE solves this with made-to-measure flexibility. We tailor looks across budget ranges while maintaining consistency in design.

The SUITABLEE Perspective

In 2025, groomsmen style is all about balance - unity without uniformity, style without overshadowing the groom. The groom’s outfit sets the tone, while fabrics, colors, and details should harmonize with the wedding’s theme and season. Budgets matter too - every groomsman should look confident and feel comfortable, no matter the price range.

It is also The SUITABLEE Perspective: helping grooms and their groomsmen design custom suits that combine elegance, comfort, and individuality. Whether it’s a classic black-tie evening or a rustic summer wedding, we tailor each look so your wedding party suits reflect a shared sense of style - while keeping the groom unmistakably in focus.

During our group fittings for grooms and groomsmen, we create a seamless and memorable experience where the entire wedding party gets fitted together. It’s a personal, enjoyable step that ensures every detail feels just right - and everyone looks their best.
